Roy H. "Bud" Watson's Obituary
Roy H. "Bud" Watson, 73, of Homeworth, died on Friday, March 7, 2003, at 2:25 p.m. at his home. Born in Bedford on June 11, 1929, he graduated from Louisville High School and had been a resident of the Alliance area for 70 years. Mr. Watson was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. A retired farmer, he had also been an Alliance City Meat Inspector for 11 years. A Korean veteran of the U.S. Army, he was a Farm Bureau member, former board member of the Tri-County Milk Producers, former Knox Ruritan, and had been a top salesman of Garst & Great Lakes Seed Corn Company. Survivors include his wife Jean F. (Beaver) Watson whom he married on December 16, 1955; five daughters, Denise Merrick of Homeworth, Molly Rodgers of Homeworth, Lou Anna Zehentbauer of Hanoverton, Sue Antram of Minerva, and Jo Anne Watson of Homeworth; one son, Roy W. Watson of Homeworth; 16 grandchildren; one great grandchild; mother, Irene (Brown) Watson of Alliance; one sister, Mary Watson Lamielle of Harrisburg; one brother, Ed Watson of Alliance; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceding him in death was his son, Mark A. Watson on December 11, 1984; his father, Roy H. Watson, Sr. in 1936; a brother, John Paul Watson in 1936; a nephew and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 11, 2003, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Wednesday, March 12, 2003, at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Donald L. Feicht as celebrant. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
