Ross Frank Fudoli's Obituary
Ross Frank Fudoli, 83, of Alliance, peacefully passed away on Monday, April 22, 2013, at 1:35 p.m. at Alliance Community Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 17, 1930 in Alliance to Vincent and Teresa (Mammolite) Fudoli. He lived in Alliance most of his life, and was a member of Regina Coeli Roman Catholic Church. Ross was a graduate of Alliance High School, where he played baseball, basketball and football. He was very athletic, and served as a punter and running back for the Aviator football team. Because of his love for sports, later in life, he coached for the Hot Stove Baseball League. He served our country in the U. S. Navy and was stationed in Hawaii on the U.S.S. Sperry. While in the service, he played baseball there in his spare time. His favorite memory was when he got a hit off of Don "Perfect Game" Larson. Mr. Fudoli retired from T & W Forge, where he was employed as a die sinker. Mr. Fudoli was a member of the B.P.O. Elks, the Dante Alighieri Society, the V.F.W. Post 1036, the Alliance Senior Center and United Commercial Travelers. Ross enjoyed bowling and earned many championship trophies. He also enjoyed swimming at the Elks pool, vacationing at the beach, and spending time with his family, especially his grandsons. Survivors include his devoted wife of 46 years, Shirley (Morosco) Fudoli; his daughter, Carol (Frank) Leopold; two grandsons; Frankie and Ross; his brother, Bruno Fudoli of Alliance; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, and a sister, Josephine Natale. There will be a B.P.O. Elks #467 Service held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Thursday, April 25, 2013, at 6:00 p.m. The family will then receive friends at the funeral home from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Regina Coeli Roman Catholic Church on Friday, April 26, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Matthew M. Mankowski as celebrant. Interment, with military honors provided by the Canton American Legion Post 44 Honor Guard will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at Alliance Community Hospital and the Alliance Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice for all their excellent care through this difficult time.
