Ronald C. Vickers' Obituary
Ronald C. Vickers, 61, of Alliance, died on Sunday, January 18, 2004, at his home. Born December 14, 1942, in Salem, he lived in Hot Springs, SD, from 1949 until returning to Ohio in 1965. A US Navy veteran, he retired in 1995 from truck driving. He was an avid bowler at Parkway Lanes for 27 years and a member of the Moose Lodge #362. He enjoyed drag racing with his children and grandchildren his whole life. Mr. Vickers is survived by his wife, Cheryl Sherri (Keester) Vickers, they were married on April 11, 1966; a daughter, Robin Vickers of Alliance; sons, Barry Vickers, David Vickers, Dion Vickers, and Wade Keester, all of Alliance; 14 grandchildren; 5great-grandchildren; a sister, Arlene Ditter of Salem; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and family members. He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence F. Vickers in April, 1968; his mother, Helen P. (Papic) Vickers in October, 2003; a son, Joseph Vickers in August 1989; and a brother, Carl Vickers in Sept. 1986. Friends may call at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Thursday, January 22, 2004, from 12:00 - 1 :00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Joe Peters officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
