Ronald "Ron" McDaniel's Obituary
Ronald "Ron" McDaniel, 57, of Alliance, died on Monday, May 30, 2005. Born in Alliance on September 24, 1947, Ron was an Alliance High School graduate and lived in Alliance most of his life. Ron was a Vietnam veteran serving with the U.S. Navy. He was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church. In recognition of his 10 years of Volunteer work with the Alliance Area Domestic Violence Shelter, Mr. McDaniel received the 2003 Victims Rights Coalition Recognition Award for Outstanding Service on Behalf of Crime Victims by the Stark County Prosecutor s Office and the Stark County Victims Rights Coalition. Ron is survived by his wife of 29 years, Susan K. (Kinnard) McDaniel whom he married on February 14, 1976; a daughter, Jennifer R. McDaniel; two sons, Ronald E. (Neo) McDaniel, Jr. and Joseph E. (Rachel) McDaniel; seven grandchildren; three sisters, Doris E. Casey of Navarre, Sandra K. (William) Bandy of Cuyahoga Falls, and Karen S. (Keith) Awalt of Louisville; a brother, Jack L. (Margaret) McDaniel of Grove City; and several nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald Edward and Sara Elmira (Martin) McDaniel; and a brother, Gerry E. McDaniel. Private family services will be held at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. Frank Gross, Jr. officiating. There will be no calling hours. Internment will follow at Highland Memorial Park. Arrangements are being handled by the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home.
