Ronald L. Gwynne's Obituary
Ronald L. Gwynne, 78, of Alliance, passed away after a brief illness on Saturday, September 21, 2013. Born on March 5, 1935 in Alliance, he lived in Alliance all of his life and was a 1953 graduate of Alliance High School. He retired after 42 years of service from the Transue & Williams Co., where he was employed as a die sinker. Mr. Gwynne was a member of Alliance Amateur Radio Club, known as "WC8F". In his past-time, he enjoyed camping, and wintering in Florida for many years. He also built and enjoyed radio controlled airplanes, sailboats, cars & train models, and anything electronic. Survivors include his three daughters, Marsha (Joe) Truskowski of Saxonburg, PA, and their children, Joshua & Jessica; Janet (David) Kunz of Caballo, NM, and their children, Sarah, Christopher & Julianna, and Barbara Gwynne of Alliance; a son, Eric (Kristine) Gwynne of Alliance, OH, and their children, Jason & Joshua; 5 great-grandchildren; a sister, Dolores (Paul) Harsh of Alliance; a brother, Robert (Mary Katherine) Gwynne of Alliance; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was his wife, Dorotha (Stoner) Gwynne on October 16, 1982, whom he married on Nov. 22, 1956; his parents, Paul and Mary (Watson) Gwynne; and a granddaughter, Emily Gwynne on Nov. 3, 2001. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. His funeral service will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Brian Allen of the Justus United Methodist Church in Navarre, officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
