Roland E. Conrad's Obituary
Roland E. Conrad, 89, of Alliance, formally of Beloit and Homeworth, passed away Tuesday evening, March 10, 2020.
Roland was born May 8, 1930 in Beloit, Ohio to Donald F. and Lucille N. (Naylor) Conrad.
Mr. Conrad graduated in the class of 1948 from Minerva High School. He worked at B&W before serving in the Army. He took his training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri and was stationed in Germany, serving as a crane operator. Mr. Conrad was a former member of the American Legion.
After serving, Mr. Conrad came back home to work on the family farm as well as spending nine years working for Sunny Side Coal.
In 1961 Roland began working at Burns Cold Forge in Minerva as a maintenance foreman until his retirement in 1990.
He was known and loved for his sense of humor and good-natured personality. He always saw the good in life and every situation. His smile, laugh and caring nature will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, Roland was preceded in death by his wife June and his sister Priscilla Stahl of Alabama.
He is survived by his daughter, Katharine (Jim) Morrow of Homeworth and grandchildren, Clairessa Morrow, her fiancé, Cameron Morrissey of Toledo and Samuel Morrow of Homeworth.
The family of Rolly would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Community Care Center and Alliance Hospice for their wonderful care, dedication, compassion and kindness.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 14, 2020 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home. His Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park.
