Roger T. Vogel's Obituary
Roger T. Vogel, 71, of Alliance, died on Saturday, June 14, 2003, at his home. He was born in Alliance on December 20, 1931, and had been an Alliance resident for all of his life. Mr. Vogel was the owner of the former Bob Vogel Clothier store in Sebring where he had been employed for many years. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #558. A veteran of the Korean Conflict, he had served our country in the U.S. Air Force and had received the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post #1036. He is survived by three daughters, Susan Ann Day of Apopka, FL, Pamela Jo Vogel of Alliance and Victoria Lynn Vogel of Tarpan Springs, FL; three grandchildren, Eric Heatherington, Stacy Ann Heatherington and Travis Day; a brother, John Vogel of Boone, NC; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert H. and Mary Elizabeth (Haidet) Vogel; a sister, Jane Ann Vogel and a brother, Richard Vogel. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 18, 2003, from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Wednesday, June 18, 2003, at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Msgr. James Kolp as celebrant. Burial, with military honors, will follow at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.
