Roger H. Steed, I's Obituary
Roger H. Steed,I, 70, of Alliance, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at Alliance Community Hospital. He was born on April 2, 1944 in Alliance, Ohio to Earl and Louise (Steed) Lewis and lived in Alliance for all of his life. A graduate of Alliance High School, Roger retired as a welder from Transue & Williams in after 36 years of service. He was a member of AARP, and supported the 700 Club, St. Jude's Children's Hospital and the Salvation Army. He was also a trustee for the Alliance Little Aviators. He enjoyed going to Mountaineer, camping, fishing in Canada, and attending Mt. Union football games with his brother-in-law, Robert Schreckengost, who was like his brother. Most of all, he loved watching his grandchildren s sporting events. Roger was also an avid animal lover and will be deeply missed by his dog "Halo". Roger will be greatly missed by all who loved him, including his wife of 44 years, Pamela M. (Schreckengost) Steed, whom he married on June 26, 1970; four sons, Roger H. (Lisa) Steed II. of Canton, OH, Rick L. (Angie Waller) Steed of Alliance, OH, Ryan L. (Shirley) Steed of Alliance, OH, and Rodrick A. (Shannon Ritchie) Steed of Alliance, OH; and their six children, John Steed, Nicholas Steed, Athena Steed, Christian Steed, Tryston Steed, & Cory Behrens; his daughter, Shauna (Steed) Kaminsky and her three children, Aaron Federson, Braidon Kaminsky, and Caden Kaminsky; three brothers, Mike Lewis, Earl Lewis, Jr., and Dwight Lewis; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Lewis, Sr.; mother, Louise Lewis. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Monday, September 15, 2014 from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm. Funeral Service will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
