Roger James Kuntzman's Obituary
Roger James Kuntzman, 63 of Alliance, died on Thursday, August 21, 2003, at his home. Born in Alliance, on August 12, 1940, he graduated from Alliance High School in 1958 and was a resident of Alliance all of his life. Mr. Kuntzman was a veteran of the Viet Nam War serving in the U.S. Army and was a member of the D.A.V. Chapter 50. He was a member of Regina Coeli Catholic Church and had retired in February of 2002 from the city of Alliance where he was employed in the Maintenance Department of City Hall. He enjoyed planning Bingo and games of chance. He is survived by a daughter, Rachelle (William) Brown of Alliance; a son, Scott (Jeri) Kuntzman, stationed at Fort Sill in Oklahoma; one granddaughter; four sisters, Marie Main of Sebring, Betty Posey of Orlando, FL, June May of Alliance and Sue Kertes of Alliance; one brother, Kenny Kuntzman of Alliance; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley (McGee) Kuntzman on June 16, 1983, (they were married on February 20, 1969); his parents, Paul and Clara (Winkelman) Kuntzman; two sisters, Kathryn McLillan and Pat Mazzei; and three Brothers, Paul Kuntzman, Jr., Robert Kuntzman and Alfred Kuntzman. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 27, 2003, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. J. Patrick Manning, officiating. Burial, with military honors provided by the Alliance American Legion Post 166 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1036, will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
