Roberta "Bobbi" Gajdzik 's Obituary
Roberta “Bobbi” Frances Gajdzik, age 69 of Alliance, Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, March 14, 2015. Born April 29, 1945, in Alliance, Ohio to Robert G. and Frances (Strazi) Davies, she graduated from Alliance High School in 1963, and attended Mount Union College.
Bobbi was a member of Regina Coeli Catholic Church.
During her lifetime of giving and sharing, Bobbi served as a Girl Scout Leader, Girl Scout Cookie Coordinator, President of Rockhill Elementary PTO, Chairman of Rockhill Craft Bazaars, Member of the Women’s Division Chamber of Commerce, serving as Treasurer, member of the Alliance Senior Center, member of Women’s Auxiliary of the American Legion, Post #166, member of the Catholic Women’s Club as Ways & Means Chairperson and Church Women United. Bobbi was actively involved in fundraising programs for Catholic Women’s Club.
Bobbi taught nursery school at the First Presbyterian Church, wrote “Bobbi’s Cooking Column” for the Weekly Guide, worked at the City Loan Finance Company, and is the owner of the Napoli Pizza Shop at the Carnation Mall.
Bobbi enjoyed working with ceramics, cooking, cake decorating, reading, and especially taking trips to visit her granddaughter, Jordyn.
She was completely devoted to her family and friends, with unselfish giving; always concerned for the welfare of others. Bobbi’s life was centered around her Catholic faith, she trusted in God and believed in her heart he would give her inner peace and comfort.
Bobbi is survived by her devoted husband, William J. Gajdzik, who she married on November 30, 1968; her mother Frances Strazi Fisher of Alliance, OH, her beloved children, Christopher J. Gajdzik of Smithville, NJ, and Whitney G. (Ken) Kwok of Cleveland, OH; granddaughter, Jordyn C. Gajdzik of Smithville, NJ; sister, Tammy Davies Guildoo of Plain Township, OH; aunt, Lynette Strazi Windland of Alliance, OH; two brothers-in-law, a sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert G. Davies and her step-father, Harold E. Fisher.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at 11:00 am at Regina Coeli Catholic Church with Fr. Joseph Ruggieri as celebrant. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 10 – 11, one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
