Robert H. Yockey's Obituary
Robert Harland Yockey, 98, of Sebring, died on Saturday, December 4, 2010, at 8:05 a.m. at Crandall Medical Center in Sebring. Born on August 3, 1912 in Malvern, OH, he had been a resident of Copeland Oaks in Sebring since 1993. He was a member of the Bethlehem Presbyterian Church in Malvern, OH. A veteran of World War II, he served our country in the U. S. Coast Guard. He received his Bachelor of Arts Masters Degree in Library Science from Western Reserve, graduating as Phi Beta Kappa. During his career, he had served in both academic and public libraries in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. Mr. Yockey retired as Librarian from Wilmington College in 1977 after being on staff since 1965. While living at Copeland Oakes, Mr. Yockey had volunteered in the Medicaid Billing Office and Medical Records Office and helped distribute the morning reports for over 20 years. Although there are no immediate surviving family members, he leaves behind many friends and acquaintances he had encountered throughout his many years. Preceding him in death were his parents, Harlan A. and Della (Foreman) Yockey. A Graveside Funeral Service will be held at Bethlehem Cemetery in Malvern, OH, on Friday, December 10, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Susan Curtis of Sebring Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment, with military honors will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery in Malvern, OH. There will be no calling hours. A Memorial Service will be held at the Bennett Chapel at Copeland Oaks in Sebring, OH on Tuesday, December 14, 2010, at 1:00 p.m.
