Robert H. Webb's Obituary
Robert H. Webb, 86, of Alliance, died on Friday, February 24, 2012, at 2:30 a.m. at Community Care Center. Born on April 9, 1925 in Salineville, he lived in Alliance since 1943. He was a 1943 graduate of Salineville High School where he excelled in both football and basketball. He was also a 1950 graduate of Mount Union College where he received a BA Degree. Bob was a long-time member of BPO Elks #467. A veteran of WWII, he served our country in the U. S. Navy Air Corps in the South Pacific Arena. Robert worked at American Steel Foundries for 35 years, retiring in 1986, as an Industrial Engineering Supervisor. In his past-time, he enjoyed spectator sports, bowling, golf, and coaching youth sports including the Hot Stove Baseball League. He received the YMCA "Youth Service Award" in 1965. Survivors include his high school sweetheart, Betty (Wright) Webb, whom he married on June 18, 1946; two sons, Robert A. Webb of Alliance and Richard L. Webb of Alliance; two granddaughters, Rachel Ann Summers of Tulsa, OK, and Mackenzie Rae Webb of Alliance; and several cousins. Preceding him in death were his parents, Harry B. and Ruth E. (Madison) Webb. A private family service will be held. Entombment, with military honors provided by the Alliance American Legion Post 166 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1036, will follow at Highland Memorial Park. Arrangements are by the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home, 1000 S. Union Avenue, Alliance, Ohio 44601.
