Robert G. "Bob" Runion's Obituary
Robert G. "Bob" Runion, 89, of Sebring, passed away and went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 28, 2019 at 9:42 pm at Aultman Alliance Community Hospital.
Born on July 2, 1930 in East Liverpool, to Everett and Georgia (Henselman) Runion, he lived in Sebring for most of his life.
A 1947 graduate of Sebring McKinley High School, Bob was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church.
A veteran of the Korean Conflict, he served our country in the U.S. Navy.
Robert was employed at GM Lordstown and retired in 1990 after 20 years of service.
He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 1036, American Legion, Post 166, Knights of Columbus, Council #558, and the Trentino Alpine Club.
Robert loved watching sports, especially basketball.
Survivors include eight children, Steve (Phyllis) Runion of Alliance, Ken (Joan) Runion of Alliance, Robert Runion of Alliance, Mary (Richard) French of Alliance, Therese Bunch of Alliance, James Runion of Alliance, Donna Runion of Alliance, John Runion of Silver Lake, OH; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Reunited with his wife his wife, Doris (Skivolocke) Runion who passed away in 2004; he was also preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Harry Runyon; and a sister, Betty Stoffer.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 2, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church, with Rev. Thomas P. Dyer, as celebrant. Burial of cremated remains, with military honors, will immediately follow at Grandview Cemetery.
