Robert Earl June Reckner, Jr.'s Obituary
Robert Earl June Reckner, Jr., 79, of Alliance, died on Saturday, September 6, 2003, at Alliance Community Hospital at 1:09 p.m. Born in Swanton, MD, on August 17, 1924, he graduated from Oakland High School in Oakland, MD, in 1942, and was a resident of Alliance since 1953. A World War II veteran, he served in the US Army Air Corps, 8th Airborne Division, in England. Mr. Reckner had retired with 23 years of service from Chrysler Corporation in Twinsburg in 1987. He was one of the Cleveland Indians most loyal fans. He is survived by two daughters, Ruth (Walter) Bies of Southgate, MI, and Connie (John) Fussell of Alliance; a son, Robert E. (Barbara) Reckner, III; six grandchildren, Scott, William, Walter III, Stephanie, Stuart, and Graham; a sister, Olive Groves of Swanton, MD; and two brothers, Harold Reckner of Alliance and Richard Reckner of Swanton, MD. He was preceded in death by an infant son, James Richard Reckner; his parents, Robert E. and Louise (Beckman) Reckner, Sr.; and a sister, Eloise Wensel. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 10, 2003, from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. with funeral services beginning at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Rick Sams of the First Friends Church, officiating. Following the services, cremation will take place.
