Robert A. Raga's Obituary
Robert A. Raga, 81, of Alliance, passed away at his home on Friday, March 5, 2021.
Born on January 23, 1940 in Alliance, to Peter and Edith D. (Maffei) Raga, he lived in Alliance all his life.
A 1960 graduate of Alliance High School, Bob was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where he was an Altar Server and Eucharistic Lay Minister.
Bob retired from Alliance Tubular Products as a Yard Crane Operator after many years of service.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #558 and the Dante Alighieri Society.
Bob loved trains, woodworking, making handcrafted potholders and pizzelle Italian cookies. He spent many hours tinkering in his garage and enjoyed his 2 acre farm that provided a life experience for his family whom he loved very much.
Bob was loved and will be missed by his survivors, including his wife, Kay (Liston) Raga; three daughters, Florence Hallett of Alliance, Donna Raga of Akron and Robbin (Richard) Balluh of Alliance; four grandchildren, Jessica Hallett, Nicole (Rob Renz) Davis, Jacob Hallett and John Michael (Chelsea) Davis; eight great-grandchildren, Aleayah, Kyra, Te''Niya, Bodhi, Benson, Aubree, Gunner and Gatlin; a step-son, Robert Silverwood; a step-daughter, Sarah (Eric) Robinson; brother, Richard P. Raga and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his first wife, Mary V. "Ginny" Raga; and brother, Larry J. Raga.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 from 9:00 - 10:30 am at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Very Rev. Canon Matthew J. Mankowski, Pastor, as celebrant. Burial will immediately follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
