Robert E. "Rob" Peloso's Obituary
Robert E. "Rob" Peloso, (known as "Papa" to his grandchildren) age 80, of Alliance, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at home with his family by his side. He was born on May 3, 1934 in Irondale, Ohio to Leon and Rosalia (Benvenutti) Peloso and lived in Alliance for most of his life. Mr. Peloso retired from the U. S. Army after 24 years of service, 20 years of active duty and 4 years in the Reserves. He served our country during the Korean Conflict & the Vietnam War. He was highly decorated Combat Medic, including 3 Bronze Stars. After his discharge, he was employed with Standard Testing Laboratory in Massillon, OH, where he had retired after 26 years. Robert is survived by his wife, Sally E. (Weston) Peloso, whom he married on November 10, 1956; his five children, Pamela Lynn (Michael) Kennon of Waddell, AZ, Randolph S. Peloso of Akron, OH, Kimberly M. Carpenter of Alliance, OH, Melissa R. Peloso, of Alliance and Richard Allen (Brandy) Peloso of Alliance, OH; two brothers, Lester (Carol) Peloso of Alliance, OH, Leone (Nancy) Peloso Jr. of Columbus, OH; 14 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Robin L. Peloso; and his parents, Leon and Rosalia The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 from 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm. Funeral Service will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 1:30 pm, with Pastor Neal Mann of First Immanuel United Church of Christ officiating. Interment, with military honors will follow at Highland Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home.
