Robert E. Nelson's Obituary
Robert E. Nelson, 90, of Sebring, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at 1:05 am at Altercare of Alliance.
Born on May 8, 1929 in Alliance, to Fred and Mary (Twedell) Nelson, he lived in Sebring for most of his life.
Robert attended St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church and retired from Transue & Williams as a Tow Motor Operator / Foreman after 32 years of service.
He was a member of the Carnation Auto Club, and enjoyed antique cars, fishing and hunting.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia (Wonner) Nelson, whom he married on March 10, 1978; daughter, Debbie (Terry) Lee of Ravenna; son, Ron Nelson of Alliance; step-daughter, Amy (Jeff) Waid of Canton; three grandchildren, Alicia (David) Dunson, Andrew (Kari) Nelson and Justin Simpson; two step-grandchildren, Krista and William Waid; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his daughter, Judy Simpson; his parents; and two brothers and two sisters.
The family will receive friends on Monday, November 4, 2019 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home.
His Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at 11:00 am at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home, with Rev. Timothy Muse, of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Highland Memorial Park.
Robert’s family would like to thank the Staff of Altercare for their care and compassion they gave to Robert and his family.
