Robert D. "Rob" Miller's Obituary
Robert D. "Rob" Miller, 55, of Hanoverton, formerly of Alliance, died on Sunday, January 30, 2011, at 11:35 p.m. at his home. He was born on July 18, 1955 in Youngstown, and lived in the Alliance and Hanoverton areas for most of his life. A 1973 Graduate of Marlington High School, he had previously been employed at Universal Co-Op and the Minerva Street Dept. He was the former owner and operator of his independent gas station and garage. In his past-time, he enjoyed gardening & watching NASCAR and Sports Events. But he especially loved spending time with his family and his dog "Blondie". He is survived by his wife, Doris A. (Russell) Miller, whom he married on August 23, 2002; two step-daughters, Christine Kay of Nashville, TN and Laura Kay-Hoffius of Alliance; a step-son, Dennis Kay, Jr. of Alliance; a sister, Lisa (Miller) Cathey of Alliance; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and one great niece. Preceding him in death was his parents, Robert E. and Barbara A. (Shaw) Miller; grandparents, John and Alice Shaw and Edgar and Helen Miller; and a brother, James Shaw Miller. A Memorial Services will be held at Fairmount Memorial Park Chapel on Saturday, February 5, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Rick Lautzenheiser of Fellowship of the Beloved Church, officiating. Interment will follow. There will be no calling hours.
