Robert B. McClure's Obituary
Robert B. McClure, 79, of Alliance, passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at his camp at Fish Creek in Cameron, West Virginia. Born on August 20, 1934 in Marshall County, Woodruff, W. Virginia, he lived in Alliance most of his life. Robert served our country in the U. S. Army. He retired from the GM Lordstown, where he was employed as a welder-repair for 30 years. In his past-time, he enjoyed hunting, spending time at his camp and especially spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Geneva N. (Blake) McClure whom he married on July 20, 1957; daughter, Sheila (Chuck) Jones of Louisville, OH; a son, Roger A. McClure of Alliance; three grandchildren, Megan Jones, Dylan Jones and Cody Wilson; three sisters, Dora Riggs, Cora Hix and Rose White all of West Virginia; three brothers, Paul McClure, Jim McClure and Charles McClure; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was a son, John Robert McClure; his parents, John and Allie (Crickbum) McClure; a sister, Annie Louk. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Saturday, September 7, 2013 from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. His funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment, with military honors provided by the Alliance American Legion Post 166 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1036, will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
