Robert G. McClain's Obituary
Robert G. McClain, 70, of Alliance, died on Thursday, July 24, 2008 at 7:25 a.m. at Alliance Community Hospital. He was born on August 20, 1937 in Alliance, and lived in Alliance all of his life. Robert served in the U. S. Navy for four years. He was discharged from active duty on September 21, 1959. Mr. McClain retired from McCammon Heating and Air Conditioning. He enjoyed yard work and watching old movies, especially westerns. Robert is survived by his wife, Shirley McClain; two daughters, Lori (Brian) Dickerhoof of Alliance and Chris (Chris) Pizzedaz of Alliance; six grandchildren, Louie Skivolocke, Luke Skivolocke, Joey Dickerhoof, Tyler Dickerhoof, Gina Arbogast and Jacob Arbogast; a brother, Kenneth (Barbara) McClain of Alliance; a sister, Rhonda (Glenn) Joseph of FL; two step sons, Jeff (Janice) Mick and Joe (Jamie) Mick, both of Cedar Rapids, IA; a step daughter, Karen (Michael) Allen of Phoenix, AZ; four step grandsons; and a step granddaughter. Preceding him in death was his father, Melvin McClain; his mother, Dorothy Waddell and step-father Jack Waddell; and a sister, Janice Demos. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Monday, July 28, 2008 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 29, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. Interment, with military honors provided by the Alliance American Legion Post 166 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1036, will follow at Alliance City Cemetery.
