Robert "Glen" Marshall's Obituary
Robert "Glen" Marshall, of Alliance, passed away on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 2:11 a.m. at Bel-Air Convalescent Center in Alliance. He was 82 years old. He was born on September 19, 1928 in Cameron, WV, to the late Lester and Lucy (Church) Marshall. After moving to Ohio, he became a member of the Minerva Church of Christ. He worked in the Maintenance Department as a Machine Repairman at TRW, formerly Cold Cast, until PCC Airfoils bought the plant. He retired in 1990 with 34 years of service. Robert served our country in the U. S. Army from 1950-1952 and was a Korean War Veteran. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal with three Bronze Stars, the United Nation Service Medal and one o/s Medal. Robert loved Walleye fishing at Lake Erie and was a big-time Steelers fan. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sadie (Courtwright) Marshall. Robert had six children, Mark Dennis Marshall (deceased), Ronald Eugene Marshall of Hanoverton, Gary Lynn Marshall of East Rochester, Diana Gwen Orr of Minerva, Linda Lou Simon of North Canton and Randy Alan Marshall of Alliance. He also had 25 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and his loyal dog, "Rusty". The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 22, 2011, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 23, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. with Marty Donovan, Minister, officiating. Interment, with military honors provided by the Alliance American Legion Post 166 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1036, will follow at Moultrie Chapel Cemetery in New Franklin, Ohio. Arrangements are by the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home, 1000 S. Union Avenue, Alliance, Ohio 44601.
