Robert Koch's Obituary
Robert H. “Bob” Koch, 78, of Alliance, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2025 at Altercare of Alliance.
Born on February 4, 1947 in Alliance to Robert and Irene (Szasz) Koch, he lived in Alliance all of his life.
A 1965 graduate of Alliance High School, he served our country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He continued to support veterans by being a member of the V.F.W. Post 1036 and was former Commander and member of the American Legion, Post 166.
When he wasn’t watching sports or camping, he enjoyed bowling and socializing at the B.P.O. Elks, Lodge #467 where he was a lifetime member. His favorite pastime was spending time with his grandchildren.
Bob served the City of Alliance for 26 years as Captain of the Alliance Fire Department and retired in 1999.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Barbara (Knowles) Koch; his two daughters, Michelle (Brian) Teeling of Tallmadge and Lisa (Ryan) Smith of Alliance; six grandchildren, Quinntin Teeling, Derek (Bailey) Teeling, Evan Teeling, Lauren Teeling, Logan Smith and Makenna Smith; and his brother, William "Bill" (Deborah) Koch of Alliance.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Per his request, there will be no funeral services.
