Robert Hannah's Obituary
Robert Carson "Bob" Hannah, 93, of Alliance, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital in Canton, Ohio.
Born on May 11, 1929 in Canton, to Walter Carson and Phyllis (Shutt) Hannah, he lived in the Alliance area all of his life.
Robert was a member of Maximo Zion Church and previously a member of Bethany United Presbyterian Church.
A 1948 graduate of East Canton High School, he also attended Coyne Electric and Radio School.
A veteran of the Korean Conflict, he served our country in the U.S. Army and was a member of American Legion, Post 166.
Robert was employed with Ohio Bell as a Central Office Technician and retired after 30 years of service.
He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and the Alliance Senior Center.
Robert enjoyed camping, walking, woodworking, gardening, and especially loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his son, James C. (Cindy) Hannah of Mogadore; his daughter, Carol (Jack) King of Uniontown; five grandchildren, Melanie Timco, Matthew (Rachel) King, Michael (Jillian) Hannah, Scott (Jennifer) Hannah and Karen (John) Shiffler; twenty-two great-grandchildren, Joey, Jonathon and Jackson Timco; Weston and Aerisa King; Matthew, Mark, Miriam, Lilia, Luke, John, Joseph, Zelie and Gabriel Hannah; Andrew, Peter, Elizabeth, Timothy and Zachary Shiffler; Caitlin, Nicholas and Alexander Hannah; a brother, Audley S. (Betty) Hannah of Miami, FL; brother-in-law, Tony Engle of Canton; nephew, Bruce (Lillian) Lenz of Canton; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death was his wife, Jean A. (Maldoven) Hannah, whom he married on May 8, 1954 and who died on January 20, 2021; his parents; a brother, Troy Hannah; a sister, June Engle; and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Virginia and Robert Lenz.
The family will receive friends on Monday, September 12, 2022 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home. His Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am with Rev. David Ashbrook, of Maximo Zion Church, officiating. Burial, with military honors, will immediately follow at Highland Memorial Park.
