Robert E. Flesher's Obituary
Robert E. Flesher, 79, of Atwater, died on Thursday, August 16, 2012, at 11:41 a.m. at his home following a couragous battle with cancer. He was born on December 16, 1932 in Milwood, WV, and lived in Atwater for almost 50 years. A veteran of Korean Conflict, he served our country in the U. S. Army. He was a member of the D.A.V. Chapter #50. He retired from the Ford Motor Co., where he was employed as a Metal Finisher after 31 years. In his past-time, he enjoyed helping others and spending time outdoors. He is survived by his wife, Ernestine "Cookie" (Malson) Flesher, whom he married on August 12, 1958; three daughters, Susan Hildbrand of Homeworth, Monica Paris of Ravenna and Beth Barker of Alliance; a son, Robert D. Flesher of Clarington, OH; 4 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; a sister, Eva (Telford) Sayre of McMechan, WV; three brothers, Everett "Jesse" (Rita) Flesher of Millwood, WV, Lloyd "Roy" (Doris) Flesher of Akron, OH and Ralph (Beverly) Flesher of Upper Lake, CA; and several nieces, nephews & cousins. Preceding him in death were his parents, Elijah and Lucy (Merical) Flesher; a sister, Ethel Salser; and a brother, Raymond "Doe" Flesher. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Monday, August 20, 2012 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 21, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. Interment, with military honors provided by the Alliance American Legion Post 166 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1036, will follow at Old German Cemetery in Atwater. Arrangements are by the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home, 1000 S. Union Avenue, Alliance, Ohio 44601.
