Robert A. Clausnitzer's Obituary
Robert A. Clausnitzer, 69, of Alliance, passed away on Saturday morning, March 23, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center in Canton. Born on July 31, 1943 in Clairton, Allegheny Co., PA, he was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School in Clairton, PA., and had lived in the Alliance area since 1970. He was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church. He retired after 43 years of service from General Motors Corp. in Lordstown, where he was employed as a Tool & Die Supervisor in the Fabrication Plant. Bob had been a long time member of the Homeworth Lions Club. In his past-time, he enjoyed golf, but his biggest passion was West Branch Sports where he was the Head Timer for their Track Team. He was an avid fan of Mt. Union football and a life-long fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Survivors include his wife, Ann D. (Smilek) Clausnitzer whom he married on February 8, 1964; his children, Jacqueline Clausnitzer of North Canton, OH, Michele Whaley of Alliance, Lt. Col. Christina Clausnitzer and her spouse Alex Logan stationed at Kadena Air Force Base in Okinawa, Japan, Aurea (Bret) Fisher of Avon, OH, Bobbi (Michael) Meisenheimer of Concord, NC; and Robert J. (Nicole) Clausnitzer of Norton, OH; grandchildren, Erin, Rashele, Mikaela, Trei, Wyatt, Baron, Adelia, and Jarek; a sister, Marilyn (Jim) Sable of Oakmont, PA; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, Alfred and Helen (Alster) Clausnitzer; and two brothers, Gilbert Loughran and James Loughran. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. The family will also receive friends at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 427 E. Broadway St., Alliance, on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 from 9:30 - 10:45 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Matthew M. Mankowski and Rev. Fr. Donald L. Feicht, concelebrants. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home, 1000 S. Union Avenue, Alliance, Ohio 44601.
