Rita C. Hines 's Obituary
Rita C. (Gulling) Hines recently celebrated her 97th year of life. She passed away on February 2, 2017 at the Compassionate Care Aultman Hospice in Canton, Ohio.
Born on January 18, 1920 on a small farm in Maximo, Ohio, Rita’s parents were John and Gertrude Gulling. She was a graduate of St John’s Catholic School. Her business career included accounting and tax preparation for many Alliance residents and businesses such as Henry Gulling accounting, Alliance Rubber, Star Bronze, Don Hole construction and Cope Farm equipment.
She was known for her love of numbers, classical music, playing cards and Scrabble, quilting, and devotion to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family was always her top priority.
She is survived by her four sons, Pat (Maureen, son and daughter Sharon and Shaun) of Arizona, Terry (Patricia, son Michael) of California, Tom (Sue, son TJ, and daughter Brittany) of Ohio, Dan (Toni, son and daughter Danny and Tina) of Ohio, Coleen (Dave, sons Nate and Kevin) of California and Laurie (Ted) of Missouri. She is survived by a stepsister, Lottie Doringo of Alliance.
Her grandchildren had all her love: Sharon, Shaun, Michael, Brittany, TJ, Danny, Kevin, Nate and Tina and her love extended to 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Edward, grandsons Darrin and Ethan Hines, sister Mary and brother Tom Gulling, and stepbrother Joe Kamil.
A memorial service for the family and close friends will be held on Friday, February 10, 2017 at 3:00 pm at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home with Father Matthew Mankowski officiating.
