Rick Haidet's Obituary
Rick Haidet, 59, of Alliance, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 11, 2025.
Born on July 16, 1966 in Alliance to Richard A. and Karen (Koch) Haidet, he lived in Alliance all of his life.
A 1985 graduate of Alliance High School, Richard was employed at American Steel Foundaries for over 30 years and most recently at Gregory Steel Industries for the past seven years.
Richard loved fishing more than anything, his favorite lake was Mosquito State Park. He enjoyed hiking with his mother. Rick collected comic books, liked working on cars and loved to cook. He was an avid Big Foot enthusiast and a pre-historic fossil hunter.
Survivors include his mother, Karen (Koch) Haidet-Abney of Alliance; his brother, Chris Haidet of Alliance; and his uncle, Ed Koch of Alliance.
Preceding him in death was his father, Richard A. Haidet; his step-father, Dale Abney; and his aunt, Nancy Koch.
He will be sadly missed by family, friends and his many fishing buddies.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date, following his cremation, at his favorite fishing spot.
