Richard "Dick" Stroia's Obituary
Richard "Dick" Stroia, 72, of Alliance, went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, March 4, 2012 at University Hospital in Cleveland. Born on December 8, 1939 in Alliance, he lived here all of his life. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. A graduate of Alliance High School, he had attended Mt. Union College. He was currently the owner of Carnation Industrial Resources and the Candle Chef for many years. His passion in life was his business and his family. Survivors include his wife, Judy (Mangus) Stroia whom he married on June 10, 1967; a daughter, Kris (Mike) Alekna of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; his mother, Ann Haldeman of Alliance; a sister, Geraldine Stroia of Alliance; a brother Gene (Kathy) Stroia of Alliance; and a nephew, Gene Stroia, II of Austin, TX. Preceding him in death was his father, Emil Stroia. The family will receive friends at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Thursday, March 8, 2012 from 10:00 -11:00 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Matthew M. Mankowski as celebrant. Arrangements are by the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home, 1000 S. Union Avenue, Alliance, Ohio 44601.
