Richard J. Ramser's Obituary
Richard J. “Jack” Ramser, 87, of Alliance, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 1, 2024 at home in Alliance, Ohio surrounded by his children and beloved dog, Penny.
Born on April 9, 1936 in Alliance to Earl and Bertha (Metze) Ramser, he lived in Alliance all of his life.
Richard was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
A 1953 graduate of Alliance High School, Richard was employed at Morgan Engineering as a machinist, served as union president and retired after 25 years.
Richard enjoyed garage sales and finding “a good bargain”, watching Westerns, buying and selling cars, and following Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Football.
Survivors include his daughter, Barb (Mark) Murphy of Minerva; three sons, Robert (Vicki) Ramser of Reading, PA; Rick (Kathy) Ramser of Alliance and Larry (Jeanie) Ramser of Alliance; three granddaughters, Amanda Murphy, Rebecca Ramser and Sophie Ramser; two grandsons, Fr. Robert Ramser and Adam Murphy; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death was his wife, Joann (Hagge) Ramser, whom he married on October 7, 1954 and who died on July 31, 2023; his parents; a sister, Iverna Peg Kapp; and a brother, Norman Ramser.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 5, 2024 from 9:00 am - 10:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church. His Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 am with his grandson, Rev. Robert Ramser as celebrant. Burial will immediately follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Aultman Alliance Hospice, 2821 Woodlawn Ave. NW Canton, OH 44708.
