Richard L. Raabe 's Obituary
Richard L. Raabe, 82, of Alliance, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 18, 2015 at 9:03 pm at his home.
Born on May 6, 1933 in Weirton, West Virginia to William Albert and Eula Mae (Bosworth) Raabe, he lived in Alliance for most of his life.
Richard was member of Maranatha Church of God and had taught Sunday School classes and helped with lay preaching at the church.
A veteran of the Korean War, he served our country in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion Post #166.
He was employed with the Ohio Department of Transportation as a Flagger and retired in 2006.
Richard enjoyed metal scrapping and recycling.
Survivors include his wife, Tehani A. (Martin) Raabe, whom he married on June 12, 1970; two daughters, Sharrow M. M. Raabe of Alliance and Tehani A. (Jason) Fotheringham of Alliance; two sons, William M. (Tammy) Raabe of Alliance and J.W. Fletcher Raabe of Alliance; five grandchildren, Jacob Fotheringham, Nathan Fotheringham, Austin Raabe, Jeremy Trebil, and Jessica Gensamer; a sister, Lois Perkins of Alliance; a brother, William Raabe of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his step-mother, Pearl Raabe; a grandson, J.W. Jr.; a brother, Loring H. Raabe; and a step-brother, Forrest Gainor.
The family will receive friends at Maranatha Church of God on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm.
His Funeral Service will be held at Maranatha Church of God on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at 11:00 am, with Rev. Jeff Caldwell, officiating.
Burial, with military honors, will immediately follow at Highland Memorial Park.
