Richard C. "Dick" Pratt's Obituary
Richard C. "Dick" Pratt, 82, of Alliance, died on Saturday, August 23, 2003. Born in Alliance on October 5, 1920, he was a life resident of Alliance and a 1938 graduate of Alliance High School. Mr. Pratt was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He retired in January 1984, from the American Steel Foundry, where he was employed as a metal pattern maker. He is survived by his wife, Betty (Moulin) Pratt, they were married on June 13, 1942; two daughters, Beth (Jim) Harris of Mentor, OH and Shannon (Paul) Tontillo of Cincinnati; three sons, Richard (Jacki) Pratt of West Chester, PA, Jonathan (Theresa) Pratt of Alliance, and David (Barb) Pratt of Penfield, NY; 16 grandchildren, Richard, Kelly, Timothy, Amanda, Bridget, Jonathan, Meghan, Maura, Conor, Flannery, Cullen, Caitlin, Maureen, Pete, Mike, and Joe; 3 great grandchildren, R.J., Taegan, and Alyssa; and a sister, Elizabeth Pratt of Willoughby. Preceding him in death were his parents, Richard J. and Clara (Frank) Pratt; two sisters, Anne Huefner and Mary Margaret Rampelt; and a brother Walter F. Pratt. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Saturday, August 30, 2003, from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Saturday, August 30, 2003, at 10:00 a.m. Burial, with military honors provided by the Alliance American Legion Post 166 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1036, will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
