Richard L. "Dick" Miller's Obituary
Richard L. "Dick" Miller, 68, of Atwater, died on Saturday, October 1, 2005, at 10:56 p.m. at his home. He was born in Alliance on June 11, 1937, and had lived in Atwater all of his life. A veteran of the U.S Army, Mr. Miller retired as an agricultural mechanic with White Farm Supply (formerly Englehart Farm Supply) of Atwater after 47 years of service. He is survived by two daughters, Christine (Christopher) Duncan and Pamela Miller, all of Beloit; two sons, Forrest A. Miller of Atwater and Andrew B. (April D.) Miller of Lexington Twp.; 3 grandchildren, Sandra, Dakoda, and Brittney; 2 great-grandchildren, Herbert "Books" and Desera; two sisters, Flora Sayers and Betty Schneider, both of Alliance; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Forest W. and Stella A. (Tarr) Miller; and one brother, Eugene Miller. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 4, 2005, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, October 5, 2005, from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Kirk Martin officiating. Interment, with military honors provided by the Alliance American Legion Post 166 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1036, will follow at Atwater Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the donor s choice.
