Richard J. Kress' Obituary
Richard J. “Dickie” Kress, 77, of Alliance, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at Bel Air Senior Living Community in Alliance, Ohio.
Born on July 13, 1945 in Alliance, to Richard A. and Irene A. (Brown) Kress, he lived in Alliance all of his life.
Dickie attended Alliance High School and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
He served our country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era and was a member of the V.F.W. Post 1036 and the American Legion, Post 166.
Dickie was employed at Butler Construction as a dump truck driver for many years and was also a driver and loader for Alliance Asphalt.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2174, Dante Alighieri Society, Roma Society, William Penn Club, and frequented the Crystal Lounge.
Dickie enjoyed fishing, camping, going to car shows and eating Reese Peanut Butter Cups.
Survivors include his daughter, Lorrie Mosher of CA; son, Richard P. "Tyke" (Ashley) Kress of East Sparta; a step-daughter, Kristy Winand of Alliance; 14 grandchildren; his sister, Barbara Custar of Gastonia, NC; his brother, George Kress of Beloit; three nieces, Sharon Dye of Akron, Rose Sisk of Clover, SC, and Taylor Kress of Canton; and two nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and two sons, Duane Kress and Troy Buck.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 3, 2023 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home. His Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am with Rev. G. David Weikart officiating.
