Richard E. Goshorn Sr.'s Obituary
Richard E. Goshorn, Sr., 85, of Alliance, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 23, 2024.
Born on August 23, 1939 in Akron, to Clarence and Ethel (Alexander) Goshorn, he lived in Alliance most of his life.
Richard was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church.
A veteran of Vietnam, he served our country in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the American Legion and the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 50 where he received a Presidential Volunteer Service Award.
Richard was employed as a Security Guard.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Clara “Betsy” (Schuller) Goshorn, whom he married on July 3, 1962; his two daughters, April Buff of Canton and Laura Goshorn of Alliance; his son, Richard E. Goshorn, II of Wilmington, NC; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four sisters and a brother; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; four sisters and a brother.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 29, 2024 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church. His Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am with Rev. Timothy Muse officiating. Military honors will immediately follow the service. Internment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date.
