Richard L. Christen 's Obituary
Richard Lee "Dick" Christen, 83, of Alliance, passed away on Monday, January 28, 2019 at Woodlawn Aultman Compassionate Care Center.
Richard was born on March 1, 1935 in Wintersville, Ohio and attended Alliance High School.
He worked for Morgan Engineering for over 30 years and also worked part time at the Bier Depot for 35 years.
Dick was a simple, quiet, family man and an avid sports fan of all Ohio teams.
He was a loving father to Colleen (Thomas) Senk and Lori Blackmon. He was a wonderful “Pop” to his grandchildren, Andrew Senk, Todd (Stephanie) Blackmon, Missy Blackmon and her fiancé Kenny Miller; and his great grandchildren, Sawyer Senk, and Grace and Arielle Blackmon. He is also survived by his sister, Linda Christen of Hamton, VA; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death was his wife, Carol Mae (Kunkle) Christen, whom he married on October 21, 1957 and who died on February 17, 2008; his parents, Edward and Agnes (Jordan) Christen; a sister, Rosemarie Canfield; his son-in-law, Don Blackmon; and his grandson, Ricky.
His Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 1, 2019 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery Chapel. There will be no calling hours.
