Richard J. Amos' Obituary
Richard J. Amos, 64, of Uniontown, died on Monday, July 9, 2007, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on January 3, 1943 in Alliance, and graduated from Alliance High School. A veteran of the U. S. Army, he was employed with United Airlines, as an aircraft mechanic, retiring in 2004. Mr. Amos was an avid pool player and a B.A.C. Certified Billiards Instructor. He is survived by his three sons, James A. (Mary) Amos of North Canton, William H. (Robin) Amos of Culpeper, VA and Matthew R. Amos of Canton; four grandchildren, Kali, Nathan, Madison and Riley; four siblings, Rolland "Mickey" (Cindy) Amos of Severn, MD, Brenda Schaufler of Gales Ferry, CT, David (Barbara) Amos of Homeworth, and Linda (David) Stewart of Cincinnati; several nieces and nephews; a host of friends including Mary Kay Fehn, Darcy Fehn, Lisa Nader, and Bob & Pat Herman; and his beloved Westie, "Duffy". Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Debra (Holben) Amos; two sons, Richard J. Amos, Jr. and Charles W. Amos; and his parents, Hiram W. and Erla Mae (Hill) Amos. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Saturday, July 14, 2007 from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Saturday, July 14, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. Interment, with military honors provided by the Alliance American Legion Post 166 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1036, will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park.
