Rev. Joy Schell's Obituary
Rev. Joy Schell, 69, of Alliance, died unexpectedly on Thursday, February 14, 2002, at 2:30 p.m. at her home, following an extended illness. Born in Morehead, Kentucky on July 4, 1932, she had lived in the Alliance area for most of her life. A graduate of Atwater High School, she retired in 1983 from GM Lordstown. Rev. Schell was a member of the Maranatha Church of God, and was involved in Prison Ministries. She will be dearly missed by her husband Carl W. Schell, whom she married on April 6, 1953; a daughter Sherry Ganni of Fort Collins, Colorado; a son Steven Schell of Alliance; three grandchildren, Jason Schell, Christopher Ganni and Michael Alex Ganni; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Juanita Faye Krahling of Alliance, Betty Stephenson of Alliance and Phyllis Savage of Delroy, Ohio; a brother, Charles Ray Turner of Phoenix, Arizona; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, Sherman and Edith (Stigall) Turner; a sister, Dorothy J. Thompson; and two brothers, Clinton Turner and Fred Turner. Private Services will be held for family and close friends. There are no calling hours. The Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
