Rev. Delford W. Hunt's Obituary
Rev. Delford William Hunt, 76, of Deerfield, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 23, 2007, at 2:35 a.m. at Alliance Community Hospital, following a long illness. He was born on September 5, 1931 in LaFrank, West Virginia, and had lived in this area for most of his life. Delford retired from Chrysler Corporation in Twinsburg, after 32 years of service. Rev. Hunt was Pastor of the New Milford Freewill Baptist Church in Rootstown, Ohio. He was a U. S. Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict. Delford enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards with his family and friends. He was a big fan of the Cleveland Indians and the Cavaliers. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy C. (Bailey) Hunt, whom he married on June 8, 1963; two daughters, Kimmi A. Harper of Deerfield and Lorinda K. Sudimak of Alliance; one son, Jeffery W. (Marsha) Hunt of Deerfield; seven grandchildren, Cory, Shane, Jordan, Brittney, Tanya, Josie and Jeffery Jr.; two great-granddaughters, Chelsea and Addison; one great-grandson, Gage Lee; and two expected great-grandchildren. Also survived by two sisters, Maycil Wilson of Atwater and Helen Ramsey of Dille, WV; two brothers, Gene Hunt of Vienna WV and Jearold Hunt of North Benton, OH; and several special nieces and nephews & great nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was his parents, Early and Myrtle Hunt; one brother, Harold Hunt; and an infant sister, Hazel Hunt. Delford had a special place in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Tuesday , November 27, 2007, from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Charlie Stacy of New Milford Freewill Baptist Church, officiating. Interment, with military honors provided by the Alliance American Legion Post 166 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1036, will follow at the Deerfield Cemetery.
