Rena L. Kyer's Obituary
Rena L.(Panoz) Kyer , 95, of Sebring, was called Home to the Lord on Friday, March 31, 2023.
Born on May 20, 1927 to Dominick and Ruby (Campbell) Panoz, Rena spent most of her life in Alliance, Ohio, but also lived in West Virginia, Chicago and Florida at various stages of her life.
A member of the Southside Church of God and a life-long supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Rena loved Tweety Bird and enjoyed reading, working word puzzles, listening to swing music and watching old westerns. She loved food and was a fantastic cook who always happily shared her recipes.
Rena is survived by three children, Edward ‘Dennis’ Kyer, Vickie L. Kyer, and Scott Kyer; three grandchildren, Laura (Eric) Van Gorp, James (Lauren) Kyer, and Shannon Kyer; four great-grandchildren, Cameron, Gianna, Max, and Logan; her sister, Joanne Newkirk, and her brothers Roger Panoz and David Panoz. Preceding Rena in death were her parents, Dominick and Ruby Panoz; her husband, Edward S. Kyer; her daughter, Sharon; her son, Phillip, and her sister, Gloria Cyrier.
Affectionately occasionally called Grandma Tweety or Lil’ Rena, she was a beautiful light in the world and will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.
Rena’s family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at 11:00 am at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home, with Rev. David Storlie, of Southside Church of God, officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Highland Memorial Park.
