Raymond T. Savage's Obituary
Raymond T. Savage, 84, of Alliance, died on Monday, October 18, 2004, at 10:30 p.m. at his home. Born in Alliance on March 10, 1920, he lived in Alliance most of his life. Mr. Savage retired from the Alliance Manufacturing Company where he worked for 44 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in World War II and the Korean War. He was a 1st Lieutenant and he served as the cryptographic security officer. He received a Bronze Star and three Battle Stars. Mr. Savage was a life member of the V.F.W. Post 6730. He is survived by his wife, Melba (Hoebeke) Savage (whom he married April 9, 1942); a daughter, Cheryl (Paul) Newton of Jefferson, Maryland; two sons, Ellery (Cheryl) Savage of Milford, OH, and Gary (Paula) Savage of Alliance; five grandchildren, Ellery Jr. and Christopher Savage, Benjamin, Alexander, and Molly Newton; two great grandchildren, Noah and Mackenzie Savage; a brother, Eugene Savage, of Sebring; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Savage was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Zella (Miller) Savage; and three brothers, Maynard, Eldon, and Kenneth. There will be no services. Arrangements are being handled by the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home.
