Raymond R. "Wolfie" Jackson's Obituary
Raymond R. "Wolfie" Jackson, 72, of Alliance, died on Tuesday, November 20, 2007, at 3:30 p.m. at Altercare of Alliance. He was born on April 4, 1935 in Alliance, and lived in the Alliance area all of his life. Ray was a 1956 graduate of Sebring High School and was a U. S. Army veteran. He attended Trinity Episcopal Church. Ray retired from the American Steel Foundries where he worked in receiving and formerly had been a millwright. He was a member and secretary of the Alliance Fraternal Order of the Eagles, a member of the V.F.W. Post 1036 and of the Loyal Order of the Moose. Ray is survived by his wife, Patricia A. (Sharkey) Jackson whom he married on June 7, 1958; three daughters, Kimberly (Don) Mills of Liberty, NC, Cheryl Jackson of Alliance, and Michele (John) Mount of Centerville, OH; three grandchildren, Tristan Mills, Reuben Mills, and Mallory Kaplan; two step-grandchildren, Tyler Mount and Sydney Mount; a sister, Linda Lou Carlina of Oxnard, CA; a nephew; and several nieces including Lori Jackson Parks of Pataskala, OH. Preceding him in death was his father, Chester A. Jackson; his mother, Doris Post Bolash; and his step-father, John J. Bolash; and a brother, Charles Wayne Jackson. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Friday, November 23, 2007, from 11:00 - 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Karin Himstedt of Trinity Episcopal Church officiating. Interment, with military honors provided by the Alliance American Legion Post 166 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1036, will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
