Ray C. Tasker's Obituary
Ray C. Tasker, 87, of Alliance, was called to his eternal resting place on February 15, 2018.
He was born on October 14, 1930 and lived in Alliance all of his life.
Beloved husband of 68 years, to Edith I. Tasker; loving father to Linda Kuyper of Pesacola, FL, Tim (Pam) Tasker of Alliance and Lori (Jon) Peters of Alliance; devoted grandfather to Budd Kuyper, Carrie Kuyper, Stephanie (Nate) Coblentz, Ray (Caitlin) Tasker, Amanda (Hunter) Palmer and Adam Peters; great grandfather to Madison Coblentz and Nichelle Kuyper; also surviving is his brother, Albert (Sylvia) Tasker of Atwater, OH; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death was his parents Thomas C. and Mamie (Myers) Tasker; his sister, Ellen Hunt; four brothers, Tom Tasker, Jim Tasker, Dale Tasker and Jerry Tasker; a son-in-law, John Kuyper; a brother-in-law, Edwin Hunt; and a sister-in-law, Bernice Tasker.
Ray was a member of member of First Baptist Church of Atwater for 35 years where he served as a deacon.
A veteran of the Korean War, he served our country in the U.S. Marines and was employed at Transue & Williams Forge in Alliance for over 20 years and retired from Duracote in Ravenna.
Ray, known as "Pap" to his family, enjoyed being in his work shop wood working, and had quite the knack for refinishing furniture and antiques. Above all, he cherished his time with Edith and all of his family.
A Private Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 19, 2018 at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home. Entombment, with military honors, will immediately follow at Highland Memorial Park.
