Ray J. Lyberger 's Obituary
Ray J. Lyberger, 90, of Alliance, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at Brookdale Senior Living of Alliance.
Born on November 20, 1924 in Alliance, Ohio to Henry Sherrick and Mabel M. (Messenheimer) Lyberger, he lived in Alliance for all of his life.
Ray was a graduate of Alliance High School and was member of Alliance Baptist Temple.
A Steel Clerk at Transue & Williams, he retired in 1982 after 40 years of service.
He was a member of Swinging 60's Bowling Team, Jolly 60's Club at Alliance Baptist Temple and the U.C.T. (United Commercial Travelers).
Ray played Saxophone for Lou Naumoff Orchestra, Alliance & Salem American Legion Bands. He was also former Secretary of Alliance Federation of Musicians.
Surviving are many nieces & nephews including: Carol (John) Hampu of Alliance, Nancy Lyberger of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, Susan LeBlanc, Bonita Collette, Fred H. Lyberger, Jr., Jerry Collette, and Charles Collette; his caregiver and niece of Bernice, Jennifer (Thomas) McDonald of Alliance, OH, three sister-in-laws, Ruth Lyberger of Alliance, OH, Doris (Robert) Wagner of Alliance, OH, Jane Stryffeler of Alliance, OH; brother-in-law, Floyd (Virginia) Stryffeler of Canton, OH; and many great nieces and nephews from both Bernice’s & Ray’s families.
Preceding him in death was his wife, Bernice (Stryffeler) Lyberger, whom he married on April 12, 1971 and died on January 8, 2014; his parents, Henry Sherrick and Mabel M. Lyberger; sister, Catherine C. Lyberger; three brothers, Harold J. (Thelma) Lyberger, George N. (Helen) Lyberger and Fred H. Lyberger, Sr.; half-sister, Helen Collette; and his niece, Sandra Beach.
The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Monday, October 12, 2015 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am. His Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am, with Rev. Randy Payne, of Alliance Baptist Temple, officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
