Randy "Turtle" Young's Obituary
Randy "Turtle" Young, 50, of Alliance, died on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 9:45 a.m. at Altercare of Alliance. Born on October 1, 1959 in Alliance, he lived in Alliance all of his life and was a cook for several area businesses including the Castle Night Club, Dawson s, the Alliance Country Club, Cornies and the William Penn Club. Mr. Young was a member of the Dante Alighieri Society and the William Penn Club. Turtle was an avid Ohio State and Cleveland Brown fan, he played on many softball leagues and played football with the Titans Semi Pro Football Team. Survivors include two daughters, Lauren (Kenny) Nile of Alliance and Lindsey Young of Alliance; a son, Logan Young of Alliance; two grandchildren, Draven and Kennedy; four sisters, Peggy (Salvatore`) Colucci of Merced, CA, Penny (Michael) Rice of Beloit, Jennie (Rick White) Carman of Alliance and Lori (Glen) McClung of Alliance; a brother, Kenny (Dianne) Young of Alliance and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Preceding him in death was his father James Young; his mother and step-father, Carol (Summers) and Clarence Noland; and a brother, Jimmy Young. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Monday, November 2, 2009 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 3, 2009, at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor John Ryser of Damascus Friends Church officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
