The Daily family is in my prayers; I just learned of this great loss. I was an Elementary Education major at Mount Union (Class of 1984) & of course, Mr. Daily was my professor for many classes including the coordinator for student teaching. He was very supportive of me when I ended up not liking student teaching & decided to go to graduate school for librarianship instead. My Dad died when I was a junior & I remember him talking with me about it, mentioning that he’d had a brother who died of the same cancer my Dad had. It was very helpful & in retrospect, I realize he gave me some fatherly advice at the time. I wrote to him after I became a children’s librarian to thank him for helping me in my journey, and I’m very glad I did. He was very special & I will always be grateful.
