Ralph Barnes' Obituary
Ralph Barnes, 86, of Alliance, died on Tuesday, November 25, 2008, at 9:48 p.m. at Alterra Sterling House. He was born on April 9, 1922 in Sebring, and lived in the Alliance area all of his life. Mr. Barnes was a member of First Baptist Church, and also the Conrad Lodge Masonic Temple. Ralph was employed at Alliance Machine Company for 43 years as a machinist. In his past-time, he enjoyed bowling, shuffle board, fishing and playing cards. He also enjoyed the piano and loved spending time with his family. He is survived by a son, Gary (Cheryl) Barnes of Alliance; four grandchildren, Trisha (Brian) Vance, Brent (Katie) Barnes, Kandi Rossey and Craig Phillips; six great-grandchildren, Zellie & Joslyn Barnes, Ryan, Megan and Alex Rossey, and Paul Phillips; a brother, Earl Barnes of Salem; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was his wife of 55 years, Eva (Favazzo) Barnes on September 28, 2000; his parents, Jessie James and Marggie (Lautzenheiser) Barnes; two sisters, Naomi and Helen; and two brothers, Merle and Art Barnes. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Sunday, November 30, 2008 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Monday, December 1, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Gordon Thomas of First Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
