Rachel M. Halczak's Obituary
Rachel M. Halczak, 89, of Alliance, died on Saturday, October 24, 2009, at 12:53 p.m. at McCrea Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was born on January 11, 1920 in Cameron, WV, and lived in the Alliance area for the past ten years moving here from Sharon, PA where she and her late husband Andrew farmed land for over 50 years. Rachel enjoyed farming, gardening, traveling and she loved animals. Mrs. Halczak is survived by a daughter, Dorothy (Bernard) Brown of Tutusville, FL; two sons, William (Jeanie) Conner of Alliance and Jesse Ziegler, Jr. of Mansfield; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceding her in death was her husband of 50 years, Andrew Halczak; her parents, George and Becky Jane Blake; three sisters, Della, Stella and Flossie; six brothers, Leo, Leonard, Melvin, Glen, Len and Kenny; and an infant brother, Tony. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 28, 2009, from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 28, 2009, at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Paul Dykshoorn of Alliance Christian Center officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
