Premo (Mangino) Mancini's Obituary
Premo (Mangino) Mancini, 74, of Alliance, died on Sunday, February 08, 2004 at 6:25 a.m. at Mercy Medical Center. He was born in Alliance on April 3, 1929 and was a lifelong resident of the city. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and also a member of the Alliance Senior Citizens. A veteran of the Korean Conflict, Mr. Mancini received the Purple Heart during service to our country with the United States Army. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 50. He retired from Ford Motor Company in Canton, Quality Control Department, after 33 1/2 years of service. He was also a 13-year volunteer with the Auxiliary at Alliance Community Hospital. Among his many involvements, he was in charge of mail distribution and was a former member of the Board of Directors for the Volunteer Auxiliary. He is survived by his wife Josephine M. (Maley) Mancini, whom he married on Nov. 23, 1960; a daughter, Lorayna Lory Russell-Baker of Alliance; two sons, Louis James Mancini and Dino Phillip Mancini both of Alliance; six grandchildren; a sister Eva McKnight of Alliance; a brother Angelo Mangino of Alliance; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was a son Rico Mancini in 1964; his parents, Luigi and Rosaria (Toppi) Mancini; two sisters, an infant Josephine Mancini and Josephine Detherage; a brother Andrew Mangino; one niece Patricia Gray and one nephew Thomas Mangino. Friends may call at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 11, 2004, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Thursday, February 12, 2004, at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Donald L. Feicht as celebrant. Interment, with military honors provided by the Alliance American Legion Post 166 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1036, will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
