Phyllis Schmidt 's Obituary
Phyllis Virginia Schmidt, 85, of Alliance, went home to be with her Lord and reunited with her beloved husband on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at 9:16 p.m. at Community Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia.
A leap year baby, she was born on February 29, 1932 in Conneaut, Ohio. She most recently lived in Alliance.
She was an honorary member of Conneaut First Assembly of God Church.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and pastor’s wife. She faithfully served alongside of her husband at eight churches, as well as numerous interim appointments across the state of Ohio over more than 45 years.
In her pastime, she enjoyed quilting, crocheting, sewing, and was always ready to share her experiences with anyone who would listen. She was well-known for being a prayer warrior, especially for woman wanting to have babies.
Survivors include her children, Jeffery (Judy) Schmidt of Coshocton, Kevin (Sandra) Schmidt of Conyers, GA., Robert (Gina) Schmidt of Garner, NC, Dr. Eric (Cathy) Schmidt of Shreve, Cheryl (Richard) Hamersley of Round Rock, TX, Kristi (Bill) Gross of Alliance and Lori Jones of Raleigh, NC; 35 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren; a sister, MerryLee Brady; two brothers, Tom and Jim Bryant; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death was her husband of 65 years, Frederick C. Schmidt on February 27, 2015, whom she married on September 3, 1949; her parents, Carl Stemple and Violet (Todd) Stemple-Bryant; a sister, Becky; a brother, Bob; and a granddaughter, Madison.
The family will receive friends at Alliance First Assembly of God Church on Thursday, April 27, 2017 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m.
Her funeral service will be held at the church on Friday, April 28, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. John Musgrave officiating.
