Phyllis Jean Dennis' Obituary
Phyllis Jean Dennis, 78, of Alliance, died on Wednesday, December 9, 2009, at 9:15 p.m. at McCrea Manor. She was born on January 17, 1931 in Palmyra, and lived in Alliance most of her life. Phyllis was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church. Mrs. Dennis retired from Shaffer s Diner, where she was a waitress for 30 years. In her past-time, she enjoyed camping, bowling and gardening. She is survived by a daughter, Bonnie (Robert) Mohr of Alliance; two sons, George (Suzie) and Terry (Sara) Dennis both of Alliance; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her husband, Robert G. Dennis on November 25, 1995, whom she married on May 21, 1949; her father, Louis Michael; her mother, Katherine Michael Kohl; and a brother Larry Kohl. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Saturday, December 12, 2009 from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. Funeral services will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Saturday, December 12, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Megan Elliott of Abiding Savior Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
